Using standard Go Tooling

Using Go tools during development means you’ll be able to run tests against your code using go test and you’ll see correct code highlighting in your editor. If you’re new to Go, you’ll need to run through a few steps first:

  1. Download and install Go tools using one of the methods described here.
  2. Now we’ll set up your Go workspace. All your Reconfigure.io projects need to be within your GOPATH. To set your GOPATH environment variable, choose the instructions for your operating system (for alternative operating systems/shells visit the go wiki):

Linux/Mac OSX

Run the following from a terminal:

echo "export GOPATH=\$HOME/go" >> ~/.bash_profile
echo "export GOBIN=\$GOPATH/bin" >> ~/.bash_profile
echo "export PATH=\$PATH:\$GOPATH/bin" >> ~/.bash_profile
